Last year I probably gave my students unnecessary cavities because of all the sugar we consumed during Friday Cooking. This year I'm keeping it at a healthier level which means using more fruits and vegetables in our dishes. So today we made Apple Treats to celebrate kindergarten learning the Letter A. Here's what we did:
You will need sliced apples, peanut butter (or almond butter for those with allergies), and toppings. We used coconut and mini chocolate chips. But the possibilities are endless like raisins, sunflowers, dried cranberries, sprinkles, etc.
Have students smear the peanut butter on the apples. Then add your toppings.
Simple. Easy. Delicious.
Going ... going ...
