2017 CLASSROOM THEME

I'm teaching three grades this year. (Gasp! Yes. I'm still in shock.) So for this year's theme, I chose something that will bring me peace and calm during this stressful year. And what's more relaxing than a garden?!? Here's my mood board - it's my first one I've ever created. (I feel so professional.)

1. Tissue Flower Garland 2. Clear Globe Lights and Mini String Lights 3. DIY Giant Paper Flowers 4. Garden theme inspired by Eric Carle's book, The Tiny Seed 5. Essential Oil Diffuser 6. Essential Oils

My goal FOR ME this year is to remain mindful and peaceful despite all the distractions a combo classroom brings. With flower garlands, relaxing lights, essential oils, and soft music playing in the background, my hope is to alert the five senses but done in a balanced way. My goal FOR MY STUDENTS this year is to have them blossom where they're at developmentally, physically, and mentally. Since every child is different and blossoms at different times, I hope to plant the idea that they WILL bloom with time and hard work.

So ... I better get to work. I'll show an after photo of my finished classroom. Until then, remember to Bloom Where You're Planted.
