MONSTER BOOKMARK

To continue our celebration of the spookiest time of the year (without being too spooky) we made Go Away, Big Green Monster bookmarks.

They're a cute way to mark your place so that you can continue reading where you left off without having to waste time looking for the place you left off which happens to me all.the.time. Whew. That was a mouthful. Here we go ...

Materials are things you probably have around the house. Minus the googly eyes. Unless you're a crafter or a lower elementary teacher like myself who have googly eyes in your school supply stash just as much as I have coffee in my pantry. The most important thing to note is that you must have one piece of paper cut into a square. That serves as your bookmark.

STEPS

  1. Fold square in half. Fold. 
  2. Bring one edge to the tip of the the triangle. 
  3. Fold.
  4. Do this twice, on both sides.
  5. Open up the fold.
  6. Bring the right fold and tuck it into the fold.
  7. Repeat.
  8. The bookmark should look like a hat. Or the top folded piece of paper.

You can make these bookmarks into any character - a spooky ghost, a sweet pumpkin, or even a black cat. There's endless possibilities.
