My classroom theme is the rainbow. I love colors. They bring happiness into my life. So when I read Maya Angelou's, "Be a rainbow in someone else's cloud," a light bulb came on. As students beginning school for the first time EVER, kindergarteners should be taught that school isn't just about learning letters and numbers, but also how to treat each other. And that's with LOVE and RESPECT.
I'm creating all my behavior charts, communication folders, sticker charts and other management paperwork I use in my classroom. And of course, it's based upon the rainbow. So here's to a new, COLORFUL year of rainbows. Oh, and Oliver Jeffers to send you off. :)
